Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Trying not to post too much about our setup online, it is a race . Its more of a generic question trying to find some inexpensive ideas on how to keep a SBC alive. Its basically a older pre 80s 350 with mild cam and a quadrajet. We are heavy on cooling radiator. We have a external tranny cooler.
If you are running a 5 quart Oil pan DO NOT RUN a Hi Volume Oil Pump.
This is a big mistake on a engine that is running for a long period of time at high engine speeds.
If you run a High Volume Oil Pump you can a will run the Engine out of oil.
Run a stock oil pump with a high pressure oil spring you should not run the Engine out of oil as fast.
Radius the oil drain backs in oil valley of the engine block. What kind of oil do you use (Viscosity and type)? I realize you are trying to keep some things secret but how can we do that without knowing more info?

run EOS or some other addative in the oil. i would use shell rotella oil or brad penn.
If you are running a Flat tappet Camshaft you need to run an oil with ZDDP additive in it above 1200ppm. Other wise you wipe the camshaft out. Brad Penn and Shell Rotella both have the ZDDP additive above 1200ppm. Most all of your racing oils like Valvoline VR1 and Quaker State Racing oil have high levels of ZDDP (Zinc) in them.

its lemons, he probably doesnt have the $ to invest in a pump like that anyway. But the high pressure spring should not suck a stock pan dry at all.
