It is a good upgrade from stock and a very popular choice to do with a 305 in a third gen. I am not sure of the gains you will see and how much but there will be some. I was going to do this, I have a LT1 cam in my garage too just never go around to it. Suppose to be a really easy swap as well. I say go for it!Originally posted by killa89trans View PostI was reading on thirdgen.org that a lt1 cam in my 305 will give a good hp and torque gain is this true? with 1.6 rockers? heard the lt1 cam is decent, and the lt4 cam is a bit better, not sure which way to go with it. And how much work is involved to do this

Truth, LT4 is better of course. Not too much work involved just how are you doing it? Going to attempt with the 305 in the car? Its not hard just have to move a lot of crap out of the way... I know of a few 305's running around with the LT1 cam and 1.6rr and this wakes them up a little...Originally posted by killa89trans View Postheard the lt1 cam is decent, and the lt4 cam is a bit better, not sure which way to go with it.
