    90-92 instument cluster LED install

    I just bought a new instrument cluster, and I decided it would be wise to do any mods on it now before the install. (my current cluster has the broken tach, odometer, and a short somewhere)

    I was reading that the 90-92 cluster only have 4 back lights, and that they make LEDs to the specifications of the 194 bulb, and they are plug and play...no soldering required. Has anyone done this? I've never really messed with a cluster before. I'd like to see a finished example, but I haven't yet for my particular model.

    ETA: Is there anything else I could do to spruce it up before install...while it is easily accessible?

    you could do different faces on the gauges if you can find them, yes they do plug and play bulbs that are leds, they are not cheap I think my buddy paid 9-11 bucks a peice for them.. good luck and keep us up to date

      This site looks promising...most are $3-5 a piece, even for the cluster ones. I might give these a try....will post pics if I can.

          I ordered 4 of the 5 bulb 220 degree cool white LEDs for the backlighting on the dash, a blue 6 bulb for the mysterious 3rd gen ashtray light, and 5 more 6-bulb cool whites for the courtesy lights, map lights, trunk light, etc. My car goes into the paint booth this week, but I will try to post results as soon as I can.
