    1987 iroc good buy?

    said to be a factory red 350tpi car. waiting on vin number to varify.

    has 350 carbed bored .30 over
    700r4 trans
    4 wheel disk brake
    4.11 posi
    NO RUST CAR
    interior in good condition
    t-tops DONT LEAK
    bolt on cowl hood that needs to be put on
    newer tires
    rims in good condition

    needs a start so cant hear run. taking a big chance. but i figure even with a crap motor a rust free t-top, 4 wheel disk supension iroc is worth a grand.

    wiat do you guys think. probably going to look at it today. maybe pic it up this week. only have this week and next week till i go back for infantry training. so i gotta get her runing quick to enjoy her once. lol

    so im looking for a yes or no if its worth it. thanks

    Yes it is worth at least $1000, if it only needs a starter thats about a hour job at most. Fairly easy on these cars, trust me I had to do mine twice...

        well when you go to look at it you should still be able to "try" and start it... Take a rubber mallet with you and if he lets you get under it hit the starter a few times and I bet ya it might fire right up if its only the starter that is bad...

          its ****ing hard to get under these things. let alone smack it with a mallet. but ill try to see if i can when i go out there.

            take a breaker bar and a socket and make sure u can turn the motor over

              um really? Cause thats how I started mine many times before I replaced the starter. So it can be done... Dont even have to get under it, if you know where it is just need your arm under there.

                    Yeah as long as it is not seized. Just like they said, manuely turn it over. Even if its got some engine problems, or even a poped head gasket, $1000 isnt bad. I paid $500 for mine with no drivetrain.

                      Sounds like a good deal to me. I have had nothing but bad luck (Scams) with craigslist the last 5 months. Looked at 6 different trucks for my son in the last 2 months on craigslist and they were all to good to be true. I think I am done with craigslist. Good luck.

                        i know how you feel. i looked at alot of junk on craigslist before i found my s10 and my formula. my first firebird i happen to catch in the paper when i was up north on vacation.

                        well idk when ill be able to go see it. and he said theres a guy coming to get it saturday so o well.
