82 Recaro Trans Am??

Ok... here goes.... I ahve a dilemma here.. I have found out some info on my trans am.. When my dad bought it the guy said it was a special edition but he couldnt remember the name... we know the car is a WS6 so we figured thats what it was.. But I have recently found out that I Have the 1982 Leather Recaro seating in my car... I decided to do some research and found out that Recaros came black with gold painted bottoms... Thats what my car came with.. they also came with rear disc posi 3.23 and a muncie four speed with the LG4(4bbl) or LU5(efi)... Ok well my dad is only the seconf owner of this car and the guy was a millionaire before us...My car did have a muncie four speed in it.. but for some unknown reason my dad swapped it out for a super T-10 back in the mid 90s!! So im not saying it is.. but I think my car is a Recaro... The only difference is the recaros came with Recaro decals on teh door handles and my just says trans am.. I know the car was in a very small wreck. Maybe the handles where replaced... I dont know.. But They only made around 2000 Recaros and about 1500 were Fuel injected and the other 500 were carburated... Now the original hood on my car says its a 5.0 4bbl.... So either I got VERYYYYYY lucky here Exspecially being only the second owner and the car only have 100,000 or im completey wrong and all of you are laughing at me... These is the time in my life where I wish I could go back in a time machine and watch this car being ordered lol.... I dont know if they had rpo code stickers for these years(1985 first year?) But that would probably be the best way to tell...

If it's got the Recaro seats, then it's very likely a RPO Y84 Recaro Special Edition which was offered through 1985.

Either way, Pontiac Historical Services is a wonderful thing...

I never knew these were rare. Seems like I saw a recaro edition on craigslist a while back VERY beat up. Nice to know they are acctually quite rare if I see another lol

lol well I guess they made them to 85 but only made a few in 1982... but yea I didnt think they were this rare either.. im trying to find my rpo codes to look it up.. but no luck..
