friend of mines car will not start. it is royaly pissin me off. will only run on ether. any ideas whaqt is going on. its an 87 gta trans am with the tpi motor. drove it to his place and it died on the way and will not start again. can hear fuel pump kick on but spark plugs are not smelling like gas. which i would think they would with all the times its been turned over without starting. replaced the tps cause every time you hit the gas when it was running on ether it would die right away. fuel is getting to the fuel rail. spark plugs are brand new but are black as hell and smell like oil. any help would be great. thanks in advance.

i was thinking fuel injectors as well. getting spark cause it will run as long as ether is being sprayed.Comment

not sure what the fuel pressure is cause there is no gauge. fuel filter is next to be changed. another thing is the plugs were completely black but not wet. carboned up badComment

well found out the wires to the injectors got torched by the exhaust. so a simple but not so simple fix. thanks for the input guysComment

yeah it was the passenger side. the computer side of the harness. so yeah i have some wiring to do tomorrow. hopefully it solves the issue. i will let ya knowComment
