Allright, allright. I hear ya. I'll keep the 355 in it.

So that brings me to my next set of questions.

Number one, and this is the most important, how do I identify the transmission in this thing? I need to verify that its beefy enough to withstand the motor.

Second, how do I identify the motor? Or more importantly, the carburetor. I need to figure out where the dozen or so vacuum lines that are capped off are intended to go. Not to mention needing to find the timing information for the engine.

Lastly, is it possible to put a TPI setup onto this engine? All of the wiring and injector harnesses are still there, neatly coiled up and tied off to the side. Did they make a TPI setup for a 355?

    Any ideas?

A 355 is just a bored 350, so assuming it has non-Vortec heads, then yes, a TPI setup will fit right on. If it has Vortec heads, you'll need to buy a high-flow lower plenum made for the Vortec heads.

But why would you want to put TPI back on it. Leave the carb.

Good choice on keeping the 355! PM 86Camaro, sounds like he has the parts you might be looking for!

Well, spent alot of time working on this thing over the last couple of weeks. Special thanks go out to Tom (itsslow) and Nick (rockandyz28) for all of their help and instruction.

I've learned a ton, almost have this beast ready for the road again! Tuned the carb, replaced the plugs, rebuilt the body, replaced the interior, and slapped some new rubber on it. All thats left is mounting the hood, and putting the back seats in. Well, to get it on the road, anyway.

Future projects for it include a custom LED RGB 140mph dash, foot well lighting, new courtesy lights in the sail panels, a new trunk light, and restoring the original TPI setup back into the car. I know, I know, the carb is faster. But I like the bad ass looks of the TPI, and I'm an old fat fart that doesn't plan on racing anyway. I'll take the torque and style.

          Pics to follow....

Glad I could help Mike. Took a bit but after that car was sitting like it was I really wasn't surprised. The plugs fouling were only because of the fuel issues we were having. We ran it so rich for so long that they didn't have a fighting chance!
