My buddy has a 1987 IROC-Z, 305 TPI, 700-R4. He's having trouble adjusting the cable for proper shift points. I never had this problem with my 700-R4, so I am of no help. Anybody have any advice on where the shift points need to be? BTW this is a bone-stock 305, so whatever the stock configuration is will probably work best.

can you get your hands on a tech 1? that's how i set mine cus the stupid tachs on these are rarely accurate. the tech one gives instant feedback...my tach said i was shifing at 6000 when actually i was only at 5000...so if you were to set it 5000 not knowing the tach was off that far...the car would really feel like a slug and not have any power.
