alright well ive had shit loads of work and no time, well tonight i got the car back togather new spark plugs, gaskets, but im not qwhit sure which wires go to which plugs, i think i got em but im affraid to try it, anyone have any ideas..
oh and i checked each wire and they are sparking, so does that mean my cap and rotor are good? because if the cap and rotor were bad would i get a spark still?

If you are getting spark at the end of the wires then your cap/rotor are working, but if they are original I would replace them as new ones will perform even better...

What motor are you running in your camaro, I'll get you the firing order diagram.

Alright, been a while since I have done a distributor on a SBC -- silly coil-over-plug setups and optisparks have been what I played with lately, but isn't this the firing order on the cap?

all sbc are the same.. except for a rare few the firing order is 1–8–4–3–6–5â?? ?“7–2 now the front right side of the motor is number 1... the the left front is number 2 second back right is 3 so on and so on... should be numbered on your intake even a stock... now on the cap its gonna depend on if its a HEI setup or coil... hei starts with the first prong down... clockwise position of the plug that gives it power ... front right prong... if its a coil style its the one just passed that front left... if its still a stock cap and rotor and nothing crazy to the engine yet thats where it should be at unless the timming is way advanced or retarded... but you will figure it out just keep the firing order the same and move it down them all clockwise one spot down each time if it doesnt work... your not going to hurt anything really cause it wont fire to break anything.. just might drain the battery figuring it out

Left side of the motor, from the front, 2-4-6-8
Right side of the motor, from the front. 1-3-5-7

thats right except if you were looking down on that on the motor the 5 should be 1... if its HEI if its coil then the 7 would be number one... that is of course based on timming of the motor but on straight up timming thats where it would be.. next time you start pulling plugs remeber to mark it up...

Easy way to do this is small masking tape pieces with the numbers on them...

God, SBC's are so easy though. Anyway, another alternative to this, do one at a time, pull one plug and one wire, put the new plug in and put the wire back on. Don't have to mess with tape and marking.

Oh, and if you are going to spend the money on plugs and wires, get a cap and rotor unless they are like new. I think they are like $10-$15 tops at autozone or advance. It just makes good sense, eliminates any problems that way.
