Wiring diagram for hatch pop?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the auto hatch, with a pop button? Ever since I have owned my camaro I cannot pop the hatch inside the car. I pulled the panels back and the wire that runs from the switch (orange) is hooked up to nothing on the mechanism. I have looked all over the hatch mechanism and there is no-where to plug it into. It looks like it has been worked on before as there are new grounds made and the wires are all taped with electrical tape.

I can seem to find a diagram on autozone nor the chilton and haynes manuals!

Everytime i needed to use those books for a wiring issue there is nothing on it lol.

Car is a 87 Camaro Z28 (originally a 5.7 TPI car)

not for an 87, have to find an old shop manual for that. I know even at our dealer we dont have much for anything older than '90 so good luck

Attached is a picture out of my service manual. It is for a 1983, but may be the same for an 87. If you can't read this, let me know and we will figure something else out.
