  • 1991 Z28 Camaro

Ok, so my baby is a 1991 White Chevy Camaro Z28. It originally came with a Tune Port Injected 305 with a 5-speed. I just recently blew the 305, so that came time for a complete engine rebuild. My mechanic and I decided that while it's all apart, why not make it a 350? So I ordered all my parts from Year One and Summit, and all of it is going to be forged internally so I won't have to worry about running nitrous, I'm gonna get the best cam I can possibly get installed, and pretty much the best of the best when it comes to parts. It is all going to be high-performance parts, and when it is done, it will be in the 400 horsepower range. Check out my website, http://1991camaroz28.blogspot.com. I will post up pictures of the engine being rebuilt to mark its progress. It should be ready by next weekend.

sounds like you are gonna have a killer setup. Only 400 with nitrous? If you have that thing all forged you can easily use more nitrous on that thing

No, 400 without nitrous! 400 naturally aspirated horsepower isn't too shabby, but im gonna be looking foward to a 200 horsepower shot of nitrous in my future which will bump me up to 600hp!

Thats pretty sweet! I myself have an 86 Iroc and the motor should be back in a few days. I chose to go with 500hp NA. Not trying to out do you or anything. I'll be around so hopefully i can run into some of you guys.

nice, 400hp is alot of power.

I have a third gen too, heres some friendly advice.

With 400hp, your t-5 will not last no matter how many times you have it rebuilt. Your 10 bolt rear end (or 9 for that matter) will not hold, especially with a 200 shot of nitrous, it will snap into peices the first time you press the button at wide open

Your body will flex if its stock (no subframes or nice torque arm etc) and even snap in places.

Also, if you plan on making 400hp with TPI, your dreaming...your going to realize that TPI was designed for a 305, not a 350...it will not breathe past 4,700 RPM no matter what you do it...unless your scrap the TPI and switch to a MINI ram or HSR and let the RPMs rev to 6.5K.

Just warning ya ahead of time!
