  • Any idea what this is?

The 'bird continues to amuse me on so many levels. While removing part of the burned out dash, I noticed these little metal blisters on the door frame. What the hell? Neither of my 87's have them. Any idea what this is? The car came without doors, soooo... no idea.

My 85 has them. There is a corresponding plastic block on the door that mates up to that metal block when the door is closed.

Crap, thats kind of what i was afraid of, that it would be some ultra rare option that I would have to find. sigh. Ah well, thanks for the help, guys!

ok - i think i figured out what your looking for

the part that goes on the door is called a wedge (you'll also need a wedge plate) - its disco'd of course, but you might try calling a company called VPI 877.846.8243 they are listed in the EPC as the last known vendor

this part was also referenced at one time in gmsi bulletin 91-10-16 S dated 01MAR1991 and had to do with reducing door squeaking on 82-91 firebird t-top and convertible models - unfortunately due to age the bulletin is no longer available
