what are the details on your Buick? Looking at the car it looks to be a solid thirdgen make sure to check underneath the car. Just a word of caution tho the engine or trans has been swapped in that car cause you could not get a 350/T5 combo. If you do pick it up make sure you dont rag on it too much as the 350 will tear up the 5 speed T5 eventually. But I love the thirdgens and I wouldnt think twice I would trade a 98 Buick for that right now...

You could not get a manual trans with the 350 engine, only the v6 and 305's came with the T5. I dont mean to scare you I have a buddy with a 88 Iroc and he's been running a mildly built 350 with a T5 for almost 2 years now so it can be done. I would trade your Buick for that Camaro as long as it looks as good underneath and not all rusted out. I traded a 1995 GMC Jimmy for my Camaro, basically the same deal your looking into. If you can get the VIN number or even the RPO codes on that car I can tell you if it was a 350 or 305 or a Manual or Auto. Have him take a picture of the RPO sticker in the car and post it up, that would be easiest.

Yea, I shot him an email asking for pictures of one of those. I just need to get a quote on insurance from my company to make sure I can afford the payments then schedule a date to go down and see her in person. If all goes well and I like what I see, I might be the proud owner of my first Camaro ^_^

Insurance shouldnt be too bad it is a 1985, but you'll need the VIN for a good insurance quote. If you could get a picture of the RPO codes I can also tell you what options the car came with and if there is anything special about the car that he may not know about Either way, good luck hope it works out for you!

if you can, open the spare tire area, and look at the steel in the quarter section, also, if you can, check the other side where the storage area is, pry it away and look at the quater area there as well, sometimes you cant see it from underneath, but you can't hide it from the inside.

I'll decode those RPO codes either tonight or tomorrow for you and let you know what the car has and is all about. Just by looking at the picture for a second it appears it came with a 305 from the factory the code LG4 is a 305 v8, so that tells me that the 350 was swapped in and the T5 manual trans is probably from the factory. I'll look more into the RPO codes for you tho.

Haha Spencer thanks! Saved me some work I was going to decode them for him over on TGO, are you sure there's no POSI on that rear with 3:23 gears?

But anyhow like I was saying that 350 was swapped in there as that car came with a 305 from factory so I would get as much information on that as possible and be careful with the T5 tanny, save up for a T56 but as long as you dont beat on it and do too many clutch dumps and burnouts it will be good for a while... I would trade your Buick for that, is he really interested? You would be getting one heck of a trade like I did Hope some of this info helps!
