You will want somewhere between a 114 to 112 LSA for a good vacuum signal for the FPR and but you gotta first figure out if you have a roller motor or not. Since it sounds like you have the heads off already, it's a no brainer. If you have a roller..you can get a little more crazy with the lift and duration, if you have a flat tappet cam you will want to stay under or around .500 lift.

Keep in mind, the bigger you go with the cam, the worse the car will run until you can get someone to tune it.....if you go big enough, the car may not even run for more than a few seconds at a time. These old GM ECM's are slow and not as intuitive as the newer style PCM's and don't adapt well to big changes.

That's what I went with with my 305.
I know you can probably go more aggressive. I still have stock heads (besides new springs and valve seals.)

Also depends on the rockers you are going to use.

And YES even with that little cam I had to get tuned. But I did install 24# injectors and a complete edelbrock TPI set up with a ported Plenum.

I have a flat tappet cam. Me and my dad worked on it got it down to bare block and got the cam out. Now i need the proper cam and need help, does anyone know somebody i could get ahold of to help me figure this out?

Then we went to the meet and greet, great show! My dad doesnt get the car shows like this since he moved down to Georgia so he was drooling.
