Over time im just going to post updates here on my progress with my new GTA project.

For reference it is an '87 GTA.

    Plans include
    *Floorpan restoration
    *Custom subframe connectors
*Coilover front suspension with rack & pinion (maybe in the future?)
    *Ford 9"
    *Some big ass rear meats
    *Rollcage
*LSx motor maybe a single turbo
*Undecided as to 6spd vs AT
    *Some sort of headlight mod

Heres a quick photoshop I was using for inspiration.

Got the car home, did some minor disassembly of the interior...

Rust wise the car seems to be solid, however the fenders are the wrong years and the spoiler is gay.

Disassembly continues.. damn its cold out there! Need warm weather so I can get the other GTA out and cruise...

Got the pass. side fender off and working on getting the ECM and associated wiring out.

Also took the taillights out and continued tearing down the interior, once thats all gutted ill work on the dash.

After the dash ill be doing some parts hunting (anyone got 85+ fenders with scoops or a pass side lower GFX?? Or the later grid style taillights?)

Then she'll be on to the rotisarie for floor pan removal.

        Rest here:

            Quiet rusty floor pan kid.

Itll probably be between Black/Silver/Dark Red.

Dark Red would be my choice, I like black but you already have a black GTA.

I do not care for them on GFX cars. I really love the Aerowing.

After some discussion with Justin and a couple of my machine shop friends Ive decided that entirely removing the floor pans to run a full frame with 4 link would be more fabrication then i even want to do in the many years itll take me to build this car. We decided that a stock subframe unibody would suffice for even the 6-700 hp. I will be running an 8 pt rollcage to minimize problems with cutting the dash, like on a 10 pt. I will also run subframe connectors and the stock style 3 link rear suspension. Will have a relocated tubular torque arm as well as tubular lower control arms and an adjustable panhard bar though. Rear will need to be mini tubbed so I can tuck the 18x10.5" rims. Front suspension will probably get tubular lower A arms and a tubular K member (which is necessary for an LSx swap). Ill keep the same strut style suspension, the coilover kits they have now put all the load of the car on the strut tower which doesnt seem good to me. Brakes will probably be Baer or Wilwood.

Ill get some pics tomorrow if its nice out, the interior is stripped out right to the floor pans.
