Yeah I got that in there today. Just to mock it up for now, going to have to pull them out soon.

This is what a normal thirdgen battery tray looks like:

Those are on both sides of the car infront of the fenderwells. Pretty ugly.

Anyways if you rip those out...

and replace them with flat sheetmetal..

It looks a lot better! (I think). Next I will do the same to the other side, then time to fill in the holes in the frame rails and firewall.

So what kind of motor should grace these fenderwells? BBC? SBC? Gen III?

            Yes, it does look better.

Gonna put a cage in it?

That would likely determine if a BBC would fly.

But that's what I would do given all options...add a single turbo and you're done.

Likely will have a cage. I hate the thought of added weight but you gotta do what you gotta do.

The weight saved by the aluminum genII will offset the weight you add by putting in a cage....sounds like a good tradeoff to me! Actually, if I were gonna do it again, I would go with an LS2....prices are starting to come down on them now. LS2 gets you a 4 inch bore and great head options.

Yeah but its all to easy and tempting to put a carburetted 383 in there. 'Course then I'll end up like Sean...

                              hmm.
