What size gears could I use to increase power in my 3.4 V6?

gears don't increase power..they increase acceleration and make it "feel faster" just about anything higher than what you got now nick will feel better

Well, what size gear and how much faster are we talking? I also don't want to destroy the rear-end, so what size gears would you all reccomend?

i don't know what your car has now....but 3.73's would feel good. im guessin since your car is a manual it might have 3.42's stock? but i don't know for sure? gears won't destroy your rear-end...not to be a dick but i don't think your car doesn't have enough power to blow out a rear end i would think

I know, I know, not enough power. . . Does it increase stress on the motor or anything? I just want to make sure that this won't damage my already high-mileage engine at all. What kind of 0-60 time should I expect? I know you don't have much experience with the 3.4, but I also want to know whether or not there are any cheaper, more effective mod. . .

nick you have the 5 speed so go with 3.73 or a 4.10 gear you will notice a huge differance in how quick it is... you will loose some top end speed but its worth it...

gears will only mess with top end, for instance for me going from 2.73's to 3.42's will only DECREASE or make my rpms INCREASE to do the same speed I was going with the other gears....

                              example 2.73-2000rpms...70mph 3.42's--2300-2400 rpm for 70mph

I have an auto, and I really didn't want my engine to maintain 2500 or up by going with 3.73's
