  • couple problems.. :(

so i took the camaro out for a little drive today and came home not very happy wiht it now... seems i have an odd miss at higher RPM and it seems really sluggish and rather slow.. im not sure what it is yet. im going to pull the plugs tomarrow night i think and take a look and make sure they look alright. hoping either one is just part way fouled or something.

next problem.. turn the key and nothing.. turn it again nothing.. won;t engage the starter at all... so i kept hitting turning it and finally got it to go and then drove it home.. im thinking proly a bad key switch.. anyone have any idea's

Could be starter selonoid locking up, they do that if theyre old and corroded. Check it out, maybe take it out and clean it up, or just buy a new one. I had one lock up on me and even when i turned the key, nothing just sat there wouldn't engage

Is there a little light on the dash that says security? If that's on, the car won't start.

I would check your relay for the starter or you have a bad wire in your ignition switch.

How old is the cap & rotor??
Do you have any type of electical pickup on your car?
Might not be getting the right signal to fire the plugs.
Make sure your MSD box is working right.

i doubt its hte msd box b/c it won;t even engage the starter or anythign else... the cap and rotor are all brand nw last june so i doubt its that.. im gonna check the starter relay out tonite and pull the plugs to look at them too..

and no i don;t have a lght on my dash or any type of security system

Clean your battery cables / terminals.

My car did the same thing, I just popped the hood and moved my positive and negative cables back and forth a little... started right up.

well i took the plugs out and they looked a little lean so im gonna re jet it up a jet size or two and see how it is...

also found out i had a spark plug that was about a turn loose and looked like it had a little blow by or something on it so i put them all back in and made sure they were extra tight..

now the problem with the not turning over im still stumped but i think it may be having to do with the nuetral safety switch by the shiftercuz if u move it a little forward while in park it will turn over

could be bad gas could have vapor locked it, as for the starting what trans do you have? if its a 700r4 or th-350 the nss should be on the shifter or on the trans shifting linkage check if its loose if not replace it.
