I am trying to figure out if I wanna tear off the front end and get really into it or just get it running this year and then do that this winter..

but the progress is slow, but moving at least..

UPDATE: well I am working 13-15 hours a day and on Saturdays working on the house.. only thing I have gotten done so far is cleaned up the sway bars and drive shaft making them ready for paint.

I have a lead on a motor and trans combo and complete rear brake setup.. wish me luck..

Still looking for someone who can install the posi and gears into the housing for me, I will deliver it. would like a estimate on cost for the job as well..

        -need some opinions here-
        1. How much of a PITA is it to clean out the engine bay and re-route all the wiring?
        2. When repainting my driveshaft do you think brush on rustoleum paint would be the best choice or spray?
        3. The car is white with gray interior the rims I have are a knockoff GTA style, should I leave them gold or paint them white or gray?

Good luck on the motor combo! What are you looking to get?

          1. Once the motor is out it should not be hard to clean out the engine bay. From what I am told wiring is always a pain.
          2. Rustoleum would be fine. Anything that will hold up well. Joelius did a thread on painted driveline components. You should ask him about it.
          3. You have some flexability with the wheels. If you want the legit GTA look go gold.

Plus it should be pretty easy to spruce them up.

If you want another color I would not suggest white since it will be a PITA keeping it looking clean.

Gray might be okay but it might look kind of boring. But if you really want some sharp looking wheels, then polish them to a shine...

I really like polished aluminum. Looks really nice and you can keep polishing them back to shine.

BTW that Skylark is the sexiness!

            1. Engine still out so cleaning should be easy...mostly elbow grease...and I'd paint it while the motor is still out. Wiring is...well...wiring...

            2. Spray the driveshaft.

            3. Black would also be a correct color...I think I'd go black with a machined-look lip.

I am leaning towards gold or gray like the interior
But if I do a color change I am going with 17s or 18s

sorry for being so lame in my progress, but I will be working all weekend of July 30th, cause its my B-day. Hope to have the firebird on the ground and all the brake work done.. Motor on engine stand & rear end, gas tank, and misc items torn out.

hope to have more cleaned up in there and have the Buick started and running..

                                Will take pics..
