    83 Firebird coming back to life

    Well I kept saying I wanted to do a progress thread like all the rest of the ones here, well now its time. I spent all day today getting things in order and moved around for the beginning of both projects I am tackling.

    I am doing just little stuff to my 67 Skylark..

    But majorly changing the Firebird. heres the pics from my 10 year old daughter and I working today..

    forgive the small pics I am still getting used to using my wifes camera phone and not our digital camera..

            All I can say is we had alot of luck when we saw this house and got it for the price we did. The guy who owned it really walked away from a hell of a nice place, plus I have room to grow still.

              Spent all day out in the polebarn yesterday and today. Did 5 oil changes and brakes yesterday. Today was my time for me though.

              Got the engine and trans out of the bird, got the front brakes all torn apart, and the car back in the air for work underneath. I am thinking I may just tear the whole nose off to POR15 all the bad stuff cause of it sitting it has alot of surface rust underneath.

              But tomorrow I will take pics of what I got done.

                I cannot believe how small the driveshaft is,lol

                But I have alot of surface rust in the engine compartment and underneath, so I think I will take a little more time to clean it up and paint it to try and stop the damage..

                In the winter I hope to have something to keep away the moisture as well..

                More to come, I have two days off this weekend too..

                      found motor and trans..

                      cut 1 coil off springs, need a compressor and then they will be installed

                      Getting brakes back together..

                            pics tomorrow.. I will take them with my camera this time..

                            I have a few questions and would like some input

                            1. How much of a PITA is it to clean out the engine bay and re-route all the wiring?
                            2. When repainting my driveshaft do you think brush on rustoleum paint would be the best choice or spray?
                            3. The car is white with gray interior the rims I have are a knockoff GTA style, should I leave them gold or paint them white or gray?
                            with how long the car sat I wanna get all the flaky crap off and make her shine.

                            I am going to be looking for someone close to Niles who car set a posi into my rearend, I would deliver it, but this too is a budget build so I am looking for a person not a shop.

                            I have friends in GR that can do it, but not as much time to drive up and get it done as I would like.
