  • Personal Victory- Fuel Filter

Those of you that went to Dog Dawg's last night know that my car died on me. I had it towed to my apartment. I went out there this morning and it started right up! I went to Auto Zone to get supplies to change the oil, air filter and fuel filter. (I've had the car for almost 30,000 miles and have never changed it. And since I don't know what the previous owner did, I figured it was due.) When I came back and started to drive it up the ramps, it died AGAIN! Apparently, it's tempermental! I got it up the ramps when it was on the up end of the mood swing and I spent 3 hours under my car changing out the fuel filter. And guess what!?!? My car sounds great! Completely different! And it started up 9 times in a row without stalling or hesitating at all!!! SCORE! I'm a genious!!! I'm totally geeked about this! The only other thing I've ever done was my serpentine belt - which was easy as pie! This was relatively easy, too. Just stressful because I've never done it before and I was all by myself. My arms are sore, though from the rusty bolts and junk. So, that's my personal vistory today. Tomorrow: the oil!!!

Now I just need to figure out how to get the smell of gas off my hands!

Fuel filters have got to be the #1 cause of most starting/idling/running issues.

But...don't tell me you haven't changed the oil in 30,000 miles...8-O

HA! silly, I can't remember when I changed my oil last, but it was about 2,000 miles ago. Well, I have never done it - that's what I'm teaching myself tomorrow!

I'm not allowed to change my own oil...

Oh well, Pennzoil does it for $20 - I'm not complaining.

Nice you were able to fix your own car Robin. Probably saved yourself a few sheckles. So now what are you wanting to do to the interior?

I think its easier without one, nothing to get clogged

                            That's what I was thinking.

Good thing you didn't wind up stripping the fittings or getting gas in your eyes. I've done both on different vehicles at different times.
