  • Air dam bolts

I decided to buy an air dam for my car.

I got one of eBay, and it's in good condition, the problem is, I only have the two outside bolts on my car (they're already in the car), but the middle bolts aren't in the car.

Where can I get new bolts for this, are they just some regular size? Are all the bolts the same?

    Thanks.

          Okay, put it on.

Really, I should re-tap all the bolt holes since three are stripped out (two of those bolts are just barely tight (thanks rust), since If I tighten them, they loosen up and fall out). The two outside holes are good, though.

So, wow, I know that even with the cool off compared to yesterday, that probably helped - but I never got past the first mark on the coolant gauge after installing the air dam. Car felt faster too, probably because it was running a shit load cooler.

Probably will still install this thermostat anyways, and I think my FPR is going as well...

Yeah..these cars are bottom feeders...they NEED that airdam to kick the air up onto the radiator. 4th gens are even worse since there's NO holes in the nose of the car to push air through. I'm trying to remember if the holes for the fog lights on my IROC go through to the radiator or not. I need a barn so I can have it at my house instead of my parents!

Yeah, the foglights feed the radiator as well as the "ram air" for the TPI.

I still think my 'stat needs to be changed because my car ran this cool without the air dam last summer.

But yeah, it drove real well with that air dam, just need to get some bigger screws (self tapping, probably) to go in the stripped out holes, I'm not tapping those things out.

                  God damnit...

This ****er scrapes at the end of my driveway EVERY time I back out. Hell, I already cracked it on the bottom lip... Guess I have to take this off and change the damn thermostat now...and figure out what the hell to do!

                  Any ideas?

If I could make the end of my driveway more gradual, I'd be good - is there like concrete bondo or something?

Go in the driveway at an angle instead of straight on. It should help with the scraping. Or go get a bag of quickcrete and fill the end of the driveway!

It's not going in, it's getting out.

You think quickcrete will stick to whats already there?

Or just trim the air dam down like an inch

Backing out at an angle somehow makes it even worse...like I can't back out at the same angle I enter, for some reason.

I'm sure I can, but it'll take some practice.
