TPI is a good setup. Just restrictive.

Porting the intake and getting bigger runners helps a ton, I've heard.

I wouldn't waste the money on large runners/base...I would scrap the stock TPI set-up all together for a Holley stealth ram and go from there.....you will be miles ahead in the end and spend less money......or just swap in a LS1...

If you can find a set of high-flow runners on eBay, or buy them from someone for a decent price, you can just siamese the intake base and the plenum, and be well off (you'll get quite a bit more upper-RPM power, as well as keeping the insane low-end torque).

Stealth Rams are expensive, as is the Accel Super Ram, but both work very well.

So do carbs.

I bought a used HSR for $500 so In my opinion, that's the way to fly. The long runner cross-over design of the factory is just to limited no matter what you do up top short of a Super Ram and those are just plain retarded when it comes to working on them. If I never have to work on a super ram again, it will be too soon. I hate those suckers with a passion.

I like my TPI. My 305 can hold its own......street light to street light!

People have seen my set up, I'll take anyone for a ride.

But.....when I build my 385 stroker, the stealth ram should be on top. (fingers crossed)

I mean, I'd be willing to shell out that for the intake. I'm wondering if it'll include a throttle body too, or just the upper plenum, runners and intake base...

A friend of mine had a 350 TPI car with a few mods(small cam and what not) and the car felt like it had good low end grunt but it felt really chocked out on the big end. I would go with a stealth ram if I were going to stay with a stock style induction system.
