I don't know what it was sucking. There's no vents or anything right there. Just the hood.

It pulls from under the hood fresh air from the hood/grill area.

Still the older snorkles being so small in size, same for the filter size being smaller you will not notice any differance in power from loosing the cramped cold air as opposed to in a larger open filter with warmer air.

The nice perk in power would come from a nice air filter and cold air like a K/N and a cowl/ram air setup.

Looks good Mark, I agree with Dave though, the next step when you can do it that would make a difference would be a cold air kit of some sort.

Looks good bud, you can get cutouts from SUMMIT for about $135.00. I know its fustrating but it takes time doing this sort of thing especially on a limited budget if you ever have anything you want me to help with im sure i can help you out and you can still afford to do things to it.

I think that looks great on your car. Hard to get a "snorkle" air cleaner with a TBI set up. You did great Mark. It really dresses things up.
Bryan has a set of headers on that spare TPI motor we have in the back.
I'll see if he wants to sell them. I know there expensive headers though.
