  • Underbody rust

the bottom of my 85t/a is pretty rusted. Is there anything that I can do from letting it get any worse? If anyone knows a place in the metro Detroit area that could help, let me know.

well if its just surface rust you could undercoat the whole thing with POR 15 or something similiar but if there are seriious rust spots those panels would need to be fixed..

Are there holes in the floor or just rusty?
If there are holes, then its a bigger project.

If its just starting to rust, they you can take it to a place to have it rust proofed and undercoated.

Just make sure you knock all the loose stuff off before you take it in.

          POR-15 is fabulous stuff.

As long as you don't have holes or weak sections, you're o.k.

i sprayed a whole car hauling trailer in por 15 this last summer, stuff has excellent strength and durability, and a great shine. We sandblasted the whole trailer, then sprayed metal conditioner by ppg it helps remove surface rust and contaminents, then sprayed the whole thing. Good luck man don't forget pics

                  por 15.

regular POR is very UV sensitive and should not be used for direct sunlight. Topcote or paint needs to be used over it or it will turn white
