I just got some new long tube hedman headers on my 1988 IROC and I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that makes a y-pipe to fit it? If I have to I can just take it up to the local exhaust shop and have one made but I would rather get one that someone makes. If anyone knows of a place can you let me know. Thanks for the help.

A simple reading of the original post and you would have realized that he bought long tube headers and not shorties.Originally posted by c0ncEpT View PostA simple Google search would help you a lot. This is what I found after looking for about 1 minute.

Not aware of any company that makes a y-pipe for those headers, however, I have been out of the 3rd gen header/ y-pipe world for awhile. It shouldn't be too expensive to have a y-pipe made though. I made one for Zack's Hedmens on his old 91Z....I think we had about $100 wrapped up in it plus my labor of a few hours.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56

Alright thanks. I've been searching for about a week now and I have only found one person who has some but I'm waiting for them to reply to me because I don't know if it will work with my T-5.
Thanks for your help.- 1988 Camaro IROC-Z

Would a 4th gen one be so different it wouldn't work?Originally posted by WMCCjames View PostA simple reading of the original post and you would have realized that he bought long tube headers and not shorties.

I'm not to sure about a y-pipe for a 4th gen. The only thing that I'm wondering about is how it would tie into the exhaust. I know that where it would meet is a different angle but it's nothing a little modifying couldn't do. I'll have to check that out. Thanks- 1988 Camaro IROC-Z

Probably because they came with true duals originally.Originally posted by WMCCjames View Post1st and 2nd gens are a cake walk.
I'm not even bothering with true duals, I'll just get a set of 3" pipes and a cutout. Dual outlets out of the muffler is a must, but I'll stick with a single intermediate pipe.
I know Dynomax makes a true-dual kit of exhaust pipes specifically for third-gens...Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
