Has anyone done the "redneck" method, I am going to go that route i decided, it just is too much work to drop the whole rear end for that thing. Is there a walk through on it anywhere? Pics?

I have neither the time, or money to do it, or get it done that way. A guuy said 40 bucks to do it, no way it would be done right. I might as well do it myself so i know that i didnt mess up anything else.

I did the trap door method and its the shit, I can remove my pump in about 15 minutes or less and you'd never know it was there. I'm not sure if the dimensions are the same though.Doing less with more

why waste time when you can do it quick and much easier, who cares if I cut the car I honestly don't plan on selling it anyhow. Besides its weight reduction

YOU CAN'T DO THE TRAP DOOR WITH A THIRD GEN!!!!
It'd have to be a very large hole or you will have to cut hard fuel lines too.
I just put a new pump in my 89 T/A and the hard fuel lines run from the middle of the tank to the driver's side where they meet the chassis.Last edited by scholtmj; September 27th, 2007, 11:14 PM.

I'm changing my pump out Friday morning with a Racetronix kit I just purchased. The previous owner cut the trap door for me, and put a really nice piece of sheet metal over the hole. Hopefully I won't run into any problems, if I do you won't see me at the GVSU car show.
