Anyone know of a good junkyard with some second gen parts for cheap? The junkyard I go to used to have an 81 Esprit, I took what I needed but forgot a lot of stuff to get before they crushed it. It's called Parts Galore, off E 8 Mile. They usually have some third gens there but never a second gen, and the only other place I know of is in Capac and they charge me a lot of money for parts. Thanks.

2nd gens are becoming pretty rare in junkyards. The junkyard by me scraps everything older than '85. What parts do you need?

I checked the car-part database a while back I think, most places they showed had subframes from Arizona and I didn't feel like shipping a subframe all the way from there. As far as parts go, I know I'll need a driver's side fender, I have a pretty good one with a little rot but it doesn't have the side air louver and my car looks odd with one side with it and one side without. I'll need both driver's side headlights, hopefully a formula steering wheel, and some new wheels. I'm always open to looking for other parts in case I might need some, and I want to swap out my rear axle in the coming months with a rear disc setup. Right now the parts I really need are just nickle and dime things. Anyone know where I can get some lines (brake, cooling, etc.) for cheap? Thanks.

Good luck on the 2nd Gen parts, I have been having bad luck with Junk Yards and Third Gen Parts even.

Yeah, I used to go to Scholz a lot. Last time I was there they wouldn't let me in because of liability issues I guess. Oh well, looks like I'll just have to find somewhere else. Ezysk, what third gen parts are you looking for? I got my third gen parts from Parts Galore. Picked up a fender and complete headlight assembly for $30. They are real cheap and a real good deal if you get the parts they have, and last time I was there they had at least 4 third gen Firebirds and like 3 Camaros.

Parts Galore is off E 8 Mile. If you know where the Coliseum is, it's right next door. It costs a dollar to get in, bring your own tools but you save a ton of money. Edit: BTW does anyone know where I can get motor mounts for a 301? I believe they are all interchangeable except for the Olds 455 and whatnot. One of mine is shot, the rubber bushing inside it is just sitting there and I need that in order to get the car back together.Last edited by newfx11; October 24th, 2006, 12:11 PM.

$1 to get in? Do you know if they have any 4th gen Camaro or Trans Ams there? Maybe with an LS1 still in it?- Brian Meissen
