Does it make a difference if the 1971 fiberglass formula hood is attached to standard hinges or the lightweight version? Will either work?

they will both work the light weight one may flex a little may have to lightin the spring ten. i have a real ram air hood for a 71 firebird forsale i have a 71 trans am and i got it with the car -
the springs on my 79 were firm and i had a fiberglass hood i just took the spring out and got the struts from a ford crown vic that were free from shop class and mounted them. no flex, it stayed open and opened easily91 Trans am, 305, Lt1 cam, 24lb injectors, headers, SLP LM2, SW chassis, massive panhard, lowered, modded TPI, Tuned, 4.10s, Lincoln locked

Mine has the real ram air hood too. Does your hood by chance have the rubber boots and retainers. I am looking for then as well as the proper air cleaner.Comment

i do have the corect air cleaner asmb for your car all is in good shape 100 bucks for the complete unitComment
