I'm running 17X8 on the front and 17X9 in the rear on the '74Z. Here is a link that might help: http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138153

Most are running 9 1/2" on the rears. 11's will be a stretch.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

yeah I would like to get an idea of what you 2nd gen owners have.

I thought that was a little wide myself.
He has 15x8 in the front and 15x10 in the rear now.

After a lot of research, I am running about the largest wheel/tire combo you can run on the rear of a 2nd gen under stock fender wells.

17x9 1/2's with 5.5" BS. Even then I had to hammer in the seat belt hump about a quarter inch. Tires are 285/40/17

My son is running the 17" TTM which is reasonably priced and would look good on the black car.

Yeah he wanted some wide tires in the rear. Like 10's

I'll pass this along to my Nephew.

              Thanks!!

If you want to run 10s, you'll have to do what Hot Rod Magazine did on their F-bomb project and essentially install mini-tubs.

                It's not a small undertaking...

Believe me, 285/40/17 is by no means a small tire.
No, you can not get close to that large in the front unless you remove the inner fender wells. Fronts are 17x8 w/4.5 BS wheels with 255/45/17 tires and the front lowered an inch.
Also, 17" or larger wheels will GREATLY improve the handling of a 2nd gen

Have you looked at the Year one spoke wheels? I think those would look pretty killer.

BTW, what car is that color off of on the green camaro? I am looking at different greens for my '86 TA. Right now it is between Cadillac Escalade Green or 1996 BMW Boston Green. But I definitely like yours...

I am running 18 x 10 on the rear with 285/40/18 Dunlops. It is tight but I dont rub and all I did was hammer in the seat belt hump. My tires fit inside the wheel wells.

                          Good Luck!

the color is off a Cadillac. It turns black to a green, its pretty sweet!

I'll have him take a look at those rims. Hes still looking.
