  • Another Camaro Picked Up Last Weekend

My son and I made another trip to North Carolina last weekend. He bought a 1979 Berlinetta from a junk yard. This is the same car he bought the passenger side door from back in November. The car is very clean and he will be using the body for his 1979 Camaro. This car was originally a 350 4sped car and still has the clutch pedal and was brown with tan interior. The deluxe interior was replaced with a standard interior. Strange my son's Berlinetta was Dark Carmine inside and we changed it to Saddle Tan, just the oposite of what happened with this car. Someone installed a 350 trans with the factory shifter and console. This car will be parted out except for the body. He plans on having Detroit Speed install a mini tub kit on it with a 4 link rear suspension and hydro formed front subframe with rack and pinion and Baer Brakes.

These trees were not there when the car was parked at the junk yard back in 1996. We had to move that big pile of tires because the car would not fit in between the trees.

Good find, looks like a very rust free body. Make sure you post pics as the project progresses.

For now the car is just taken apart. It will need a little rust repair in the floors from sitting over grass for 14 years. Have a bunch of parts to sell from it inluding the 4 speed pedals.
