compression is all going to depend on what psi you finnaly decide to push outta it for boost in mech tech we put together a twin turbo sbc with an accel FI kit and pushed it from 7psi all the way to 22 psi rule of thumb from that experience is for every 10psi we added we gain a full compretion ratio motor started at 8.5.1 after 10psi it went to 9.5.1 at 20psi it was at 10.5.1 its all going to depend how much boost you wanna push dont forget you gain power from high compression as well i wouldnt be affraid at all of running 10psi on a 10.1 motor as long as you run premium in it but then when you do get the itch to run at the track your going to need to think where you limit is and if you want to blow your fresh motor...lol

      That's kinda the whole point.

Do you want to take your car out and cruise Woodward, or stand around it with the hood up and be able to tell your friends "yeah, it's 10:1 and puts out 10 psi...runs low 10s at the track, but we don't get out there much".

Depends on what you want to do with it and how much $$$ you want to spend.

I guess I've done some soul searching lately.
While that may sound too deep when speaking in relation to cars, I'm sure a bunch of you can understand.

I might have started on project Twin Turbo Secondgen a little too quickly.

Now, I haven't done anything to the car but tow it up here from Ohio and do some planning, but announcing the build plan and whatnot might have been too early.

Some of you know that my current plan is professional racing. Now, I did a ton of research into this and I don't believe a twin-turbo Camaro would fit the bill.

Two projects cannot be accomplished side-by-side by me alone, I've decided this for sure. So it basically comes down to choosing my career or choosing my pasttime of cruising.

I believe I have to sell the second gen in an effort to build a competition car. The work it would take to restore the Camaro would make it more like a labor of love than actually getting down to racing.

You CANNOT love the car that you race. You have to be willing to drive it off a cliff hundreds of times before you even get close to obtaining true experience.

The forms of racing that I'm interested in include stock car racing, offroad racing, dragracing and drifting. I couldn't make my second gen a suitable racecar within the constraints of my time and my budget.

This really blows because the Camaro is almost ready to run as a 350/TH350 car.

If it ends up I do sell it, I'll post it on here first. It's an amazing car. It'd turn into a Woodward Cruiser in a matter of weeks, not years.

I'll start a thread on here in regards to whatever competition car I build, but that might mean getting out of F-Bodies as quickly as I came into them. It's really too bad because this is an F-Body only forum
Depending on which form of racing I pursue, stockcar racing and drifting would generally lead to something japanese while offroad racing or dragracing would of course lead to a domestic.

I don't know, all of this is pretty tough. I'll type some more up later.

EDIT - A third-gen might be in the cards as a drift-car now that I think about it.

There are a few guys on TGO that do drift. Names Crazy hawaiian or something. They are called //Power Slideways

Third gens are also notorious at pulling the wheels if you wanna do drag

My thoughts: keep the 2nd gen. Consider it an investment, the price can only go up. Build it as a CRUISER, meaning don't worry if it's the fastest car on the block, if it's almost ready as a 350, leave it at that, mod it in the future if you must, but make it look cruise worthy and keep it.

Regardless, you're always welcome to hang out on the site, Drew, even if you don't necessarilly own fbodies. It's an fbody enthusiast site, so as long as you still have that underlying passion for the greatest cars ever made, you're still welcome. Just don't come on here bragging about some jap crap.

Hahaha, cool, cool. Even if it does come down to racing in some rice rocket, I'll still hate it deeply.

Maybe I can hold onto the second gen. I guess it really doesn't have to be built to be the ultimate cruiser, haha.

Sorry to disappoint but this project is now officially on hold indefinatly.
I'm keeping the 78 for sure but it won't be moving for quite a while.

Keep checking the forums to see what projekt is taking it's place.

I know your not doing this anymore, but I found a pic of a twin turbo 2nd gen bird. So instead of creating a new thread I decided to post it here. It's a TT455. The 2 turbos are off of the 301 turbo cars.

This isn't dead quite.. just.. changed.

It looks quite cool, but that's a horrible setup. Draw-through carbs FTL.
