replacing shift knob

i installed a new shift knob recently and wanted to share the basics

i will explain how to remove the knob - start by taking a small screw driver and lightly pry up on the button, once off you'll need to remove the lock ring inside the base of the shifter and remove the slip clip from the plunger. at that point the knob will lift right off - reverse the process for installation
