  • Overheating

Ok so my car is starting to over heat now..

I will be driving for about 8min..check the gauge and its at the half mark..so when im at a light or parked somewhere waiting for my girl to get in the car it will rise and rise..and will eventually go back down like 10min later but only drops just a hair.

Any ideas whats going on..just added coolant...

When was the last time the Thermostat was replaced? I'd start there. If it's been a while since it's had a Radiator flush, that would be next.

Thermostat would be a good start. Then I would move on to make sure the fan comes on.

ya the 60 degree v-6's ive owned have been awful for sticky stats... its staying closed at idle getting really hott then when you up the rpm's and get that water pump moving faster the pressure forces it open and it starts to cool down im guessing... its a problem that never seemed to go away with mine even after market stats had the same problem i think its just the way the coolant system was setup... couple bucks should fix it i replaced mine every year just cause i was sick of it happening..

but you should check your coolant level too same symptoms as having too low of fluid

Yep............. Those are the two most common cause .
If that don't cure it ,take it to a Radiator Shop for a Professional opinion !
