Headlight Motor?

I went out to my car sat night to head to woodward. Check all my fluid levels, make sure everything looks good. All is a go. I start the car, start packing up..flip on the headlights, and the passenger side wont come up. I flipped it a couple more times and nothing. I had to manually turn it up and back down all night. Should i just swap a new motor in and all should be good? Im just surprised it just crapped out even before the gear did.

I have the same problem on my 94 bird. I need a new motor too. But they are really expensive. So, I'm holding out.
What I did was turn the lights on, then unplug both motors.
At least my lights stay up.

My driver side is doing the same thing! almost. the motor turns but the gear is shot. Its so annoying i wish i had bought a Camaro.

Out of the 5 or so 3rd gen Firebirds I have owned, only one had an actual bad motor.
Most of the other times it was a lose wire, or a bad relay.
I would check out the cheaper stuff before buying the more expensive stuff.

But who knows, maybe the forth gens have weak motors.
But just make sure it is definitely the motor first.

i replaced my headlight motor on my car last summer...not cheap thats for sure...mine made a pretty nasty grinding sound when it came back down the gears in it or somthing were pretty well shot so i said i might as well replace it before it wont flip up for come back down
i cant remember how much they charged me for it though..i wanna say like somewhere between like 200-300$...does that sound right??
