Damn $250 let me know who this guy is a cam could be in the near future with a price like that. Most places charge around $1000 or so I've been told. I'd probably end up doing it myself then and I have HPT now so this is sounding even better all the time.

well looks like im getting more than a cam when they were installing the new valve seals we discovered that one of the cylinders had like 100% blow by soo i get to replace the pistons, rods, rings and bearings. i might drop the compression a bit and strap a procharger on it, but ill know if this is what i want to do by tomarow.

a cam in a ls1 is a easy swap. the lifters snap into place once u pull the pushrods u spin the cam 360 the lifters snap in. u pull the cam put the new one in, line it up, put the pushrods in and wola.

please go fully forged if ur thinking boost or spray shyt go forged neway might as well instead of replacing later.

I wouldn't necissarily do forged pistons, hypereutectic can work just as well, and doesn't have the wear issues as forged unless building a race motor it's not worth the extra cost

unless u plan on spraying one day or going boost. the hypereutectics are fine, other wise they will shatter. just a FYI lol. thast why im going forged. im building a nitrous street motor. that will see about 1000-5000 miles a year driven on the street and mostly trailer or drive tot he track miles.
i would also suggest getting rid of the stock stall converter with that cam... just a suggestion. im running a 10 inch 3600 nitrous stall converter but i also have a th350 trans fully built. mines mostly a race setup. u are going for a street something along 3000 stall would be nice with that cam.

I have read a bunch on it, and they say the hypers are fine on a street motor even when sprayed or boosted (keith black claims 15 psi and nitrous at teh same time if properly tuned is fine) forged wear engines faster (their downside, but in a race engine you rebuild frrequently anyway) also keep in mind a cheap set of forged will break before an expensive set of casts (due to teh alloy used)

arch ur absolutely right. but i plan to rebuild my motor once a year more then likely but next season i should not even have to. its true hypers are fine on boost and spray it all depends on who made them. most will shatter under that. even if tuned properly but if everythigns right things work right. as long as i gap my rings right my engines gunna run fine. shouldnt wear it out to much. besides ill be saving all year for big block. lol way to dump another 20 grand into the car eh?

lol yeah ud be fine with a really nice set of hypers.
