I drove my 94 3.4 camaro last winter with a set of BFG Radial T/A's, and it handled better in the snow than my dad's 96 Blazer 4x4. No joke.

The problem falls that at that point I will have no DD/winter car. My question is....How does a 4th gen Fbody handle in the snow? Of course it would be a V6 3.4/3.8 car. Whats the biggest problem you guys have that year round your cars?
Mines fine as long as I dont go up north where they dont plow at all.

my brother drove his last winter. We got a nice set of snow tires for it and then threw some weight in the back to plant the rear nicely. He did just fine with it. Helps with the mild winters we have been having.

If I were you though I would use the money for a nice ls1, then whatever is left use on a cheap fwd car. I bought my 92 saturn sl2 for $900 and it works great for a winter car. I wouldn't get an fbody just for a winter beater.

The part that sucks the most is knowing that your car is dirty and you can't wash it. Everytime I see an fbody drive in the snow in the back of my head I say what an idiot.... Then I remember about the time I had to drive mine all year. THE WORST PART IS THE RUST.

please don't tell me that car is rusting.

I drive my 85 TA as a winter beater, It has survived 20 years and has many minor problems but its fun to drive and handles much better than my camaro (has a hard time in rain, lol)

Geeze, like i said, i drove my SS for 2 winters, but i DID wash it everyday, and that is no bullshit, everyday at work i would pull it in and wash it, helps working at a detail shop. that and our powerwasher has a karosene (sp?) burner that makes the water hot as $%^#!!!! and the only spots my car has rust is where the SLP sub frame connectors "rubbed" the underside a little bit. but i will be fixing that shortly when i put my new Sub Frame connectors in and grind down the bit of surface rust and POR15 my whole underside!

i drove my 3.4 all winter last year and will be doing it again this year. the first couple snows we had this year i still had my summer tires on, hahaha what a joke, even if i just touched the gas my car would kick sideways. now i have my winter tires on the rear (cooper weather-master *snow*) and some cheep all season tires on the front... havent had a problem yet, does good on ice and snow. drives better than my moms fwd monte carlo.

last year i had just regular all season tires and it didnt do all that bad but not verry good. all i had then and now for weight is my sub box witch is about 50 lbs id say.

just get some snows for the rear and you will be fine

please excuse my spelling... i went to a cathlic school.

well this isnt an f-body i know, but my 89 s-10 p/u with the 4.3 2wd long bedis what i'm driving, and i had one problem with it, and that was because my back tires were bald. I'm sure my s-10 is alot worse of a winter car than a 4th gen v6 IMO, I have some Firestone Destination All Terrains on it right now, not the best snow tire but better than the M+S i had on there before.
