Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
That is more like the Rarest F-body Never made.
I saw that car and the Blue Sunoco Camaro At the `03 Dream Cruise.

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
"For you who believe all you read, I caution you - you are daily being brainwashed for profit by extremely effective psychology with very little regard to factual accuracy. In short, you're at the mercy of the world's greatest bullshit artists with the morals of a stray tomcat." - Smokey Yunick
Threads like this just kill me...you can rattle off a bazillion one-of-one cars, but most of 'em were show/SEMA/experimental cars.
For me, in the end, it all comes down to the motor and what options were surrounding it.
For a first gen, it needs to be a COPO 427 Camaro or a Ram Air IV Firebird/TA (RA Vs were sold as over the counter dealer only options). Add in a convertible top with rare colors for flavor.
For a second gen, a 396 Camaro or RA IV T/A or Formula. A Super Duty would fit in well here as well. I'd guess that almost all the SD Formulas were one of one cars.
It gets tougher for third gens as motors were homologated, but the handful of outstanding examples would be the '92 Firehawk with the aluminum 383 (grey area here...alledgedly built by the factory as a "one of") or the more-easily-acquired '89 Indy Turbo T/A.
Fourth gens, the motor game is over. All you have left is rare top/color combinations from the factory (no, I won't lump the GMMG cars into this).
Regardless, you can find a one-of-one for any year if you look hard enough.

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
I saw that car this summer at the Frankenmuth classic car show, it's a sweet car, they also had a solstice and a corvete on display. The Concept Challenger was also on display at the show.

one of GM bigest mistakes was when the stopped production of the F-body killing 35 years of heritage, muscle, & a legandary automobile.
i have owned 8 F-bodies, & will always love them. my favorite one i still own! 92 Firehawk clone!
One of the best "rare cars" 69 Z28 convertible!!! Only one made to my knowledge!
Pretty close, James. It was a 1968 Z28 Convertible
And finally, what may be the rarest Camaro of all - there was one 1968 Z/28 Camaro convertible built for Chevrolet General Manager Pete Estes on July 15, 1968. It is the only Z/28 convertible ever built. Options included a folding rear seat, auxiliary console-mounted instruments, auxiliary lighting, power windows, remote outside mirror, custom seat belts, performance suspension package, four-wheel disc brakes, blue light stereo system, positraction, ‘69 prototype fiberglass hood, cross-ram air and powder coated factory headers. This car was then delivered to Mr. Estes through Bill Markley Chevrolet in Detroit, whereupon the car was used as Mr. Estes daily transportation until December 17, 1968. On that day, it was officially sold to its first owner, T.H. Standen. Standen sold the car to Vern Nye, another GM employee, only two years later, in whose hands it remained for nearly 20 years. Only recently was the car made known to the public. I had thought that the car's whereabouts were unknown, but Michael Sullivan found it for me! The car was sold at auction to the Rock 'n Roll Toy Store, LTD., in Highland park, IL. Michael found it on the web, and was kind enough to let me know about it. Thanks, Mike! So how did this car come to be built at all? According to Jim Mattison, who worked in the special projects division at the time, they needed approval to build the Z/28 for the general public instead of trying to build just enough to homologate for SCCA racing. They figured that if Pete Estes, the Chevrolet General manager, drove a Z/28 he would like it enough to approve the plan. The problem was that Estes was a convertible freak, and he wouldn't drive anything else. They could give him a regular Z/28 coupe but it would probably just sit in the company garage. They decided the only solution was to build a convertible Z/28 and give that to Estes. The result - Estes drove the car, loved it, and we got the Z/28.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered
