  • Dilemma - Need Body Panel

A couple of weeks ago my firebird had an encounter with a telephone pole. I purchased this car new in 1993 and I really like this specific car. I have done a lot of upgrades including suspension and upgrading the engine to a 383 with LE2 heads and supporting intake, exhaust, fuel etc. The interior is like new and it is a lot of fun to drive. The dilemma is how much to spend versus parting it out.

I got an estimate from a auto body man I have known a long time, has a great reputation, and is reasonably priced. His first comment was that the work would cost more than the car was worth. I already surmised that. After he worked up the estimate he reviewed it with me but there was a disclaimer, it did not include the cost of the tail light or a donor panel because he could not locate either. I have been looking around with little success (ebay, and various auto part websites I found via google).

Can anyone suggest where I could look to find these parts and for a reasonable price?

    Thanks for any input.

Get yourself a battery operated sawzall and a bunch of batteries, and hit the pick and pull. Itll probably take the better part of a day to remove but itll be cheap. I say save it. you can find parts, it just takes a while to find the right ones.

I would fix that if it were mine. Tailights are not impossible to find, just a little challenging.
