Painless Wiring Harness Installation?

I don't see the rationale in paying 1grand for something that doesnt make your car faster or more appealing. Money is much better spent elsewhere.

I used to make hacks for video games and software, that is how I got the name . As for doing it myself I want to do the wiring harness myself and save the money. Well it is at a shop right now and they are looking it over and hopefully I will get the minor stuff done on the inside their and I can do the harness myself.

Best of luck to you on that. If if it's the engine harness, it's not as involved, still a lot of work. I know how these harness get connected from my job. So I know doing it in an assembled vehicle is much more difficult. If you follow the wiring diagram and know how to read one, shouldn't be too bad except for access to connections under the hood, just like anything else under the hood or inside an Fbody.

a painless harness is anything but painless (they have a horrible reputation in the restoration world for not having enough circuits, or even better misslabled circuits)

I have installed a painless on a tuned port set up. Not bad at all. Yea it took some time but well worth it.

But if i were you i would fix the hareness you have or find a new harness on ebay or someone who has junked a car.

Oh and buy the way if you get rid of your harness let me know I WANT IT.

I have nothing against Painless at all. I had a '68 F-100 pickup and the wiring was so messed up I rewire the entire truck from the ground up. Overall it was an excellent kit with good instruction and well labeled wires. I would recommend them. But for the case of replacing engine harness on the '98, I just think it would quite a task. Just my 2 cents.
