  • Any info on WS7 Badging??

I have a question for you guys/gals. I have a 02 T/A WS6. When I bought the car, though, it was badged as a WS7(My car is a real WS6).. Does anyone know what a WS7 really is? I looked it up on the internet and there are varying theories as to what a WS7 is. 1 is that a WS7 is a cloned WS6, obviously in my case this is not the truth. The other thing I found is that when you convert your car to TRUE ram air people rebadge them as WS7's. This is what I believe is true in my case as I have an aftermarket hood with cold air kit installed providing true ram air. The only reason I've left the WS7 on is a new badge costs about $100. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, it's supposed to be a non-ram air car that has been converted over to full ram air. No, it was not a factory designation.

Now a WS7 package did exist in 81-82 for the WS6 suspension, but with a rear disc brake delete.

No, I don't know who would order that either...

I don't know why the original owner went with an aftermarket hood, I am sure the car came with a Ram Air hood as it is a WS6. My guess is he went with a aftermarket hood as they are shaped differently on the underside and allow the hood to seal to the cold air box, creating real Ram Air..

Well guess I need to re-Badge her a WS6 next year. Sorta defeats the purpose of having a WS6 when the back of the car says she's a clone...lol

Im not 100% certain, but i don;t think you have a true WS6..... the code for the WS6 on the door is WU8 i believe..... However, you have WS6 on your door, and i'm not really sure what that means.... i think WU8 is the code... I think the previous owner had a non-ws6 and added the hood and WS7 emblem...

It sounds like you have the WS7 hood. So they put the WS7 badge on it.

Yeah, I was going to say WU8 was the SS option.. I bought the car from the 2nd owner, he told me the 1st owner had switched badges after he changed the hood. The original owner did do alot of mods to the car, I'm still in touch with the 2nd owner and he nor I has any idea why the hood swap???

That's probably correct. I'm going to switch it back to a WS6 on the back though. Why imply I have a clone when I don't.. LOL

Thanks for all the info guys!
