Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

So I'mswapping wheels with another member on here, and he's using a 1.25in spacer that bolts to the hub then you bolt the rims to the spacer, my question is how do the studs and spacers hold up to HP? I've broken a few studs on high HP cars before and it isnt fun, also his rims are 19in for the rear and 18in up front, how will my car like theseseeing as how I've lowered it 2in with the eibach sportline kit?
Does anyone have a similar setup and can share pics or strories?

I'm not a fan of spacers by themselves, so I wouldn't be eager to mix them with any amount of HP improvements. That said though, I know guys have run them without any problems. So I guess it can be done. Just not something I would prefer to do.
At some point the 19" wheels are going to rub, you'll probably want to roll the wheel lip.
That's what I thought, really dont want to lose a wheel doing a burnout or taking a corner sideways, . I do t mind having to roll the lips I was going to have to do that with the 17in 10 spokes that are on it now,

My TTA has 16" wheels and no spacers. The offset of the wheels are different from front to back, but there's no spacers. I'm pretty confident every GTA was the same way. My '86 IROC never had spacers either.
Does your car ever understeer autoxing? Understeer induced wheel hop is what would scare me, otherwise its probably not likely to be a problem.
yea it would get some understeer, but i don't ever remember it getting much hopping but it is certainly possible i would think. i'm running ARP studs all the way around, and even then i wouldn't run them if i didn't need them.

If you come across a cobra in the wild, wipe it off and apologize.
I have spacers on my car (602/540)... but they are 1/2" slip ons, with longer wheel studs. I think thats the stronger/safer way to go. On my old 95 (stock power) I ran 1.5" spacers on the rear to allow the installation of the c6 wheels.

My thing is, these are going on the rear. And I like to slide around a bit and take corners hard. Launch hard, you know typical fbody owner things, I just don't want to lose a wheel and wind up regretting my choose but iI do like the way these wheels look on a lowered fbody, that may have just sold me on them Ben lol
