Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

When driving at highway speeds (70-80 mph), I've noticed that the steering wheel tends to vibrate slightly. Is this a normal LS1 thing, if not what could cause it and is it hurting anything? The car is a 2002 trans am and the tires are new(er) and have been balanced/aligned, tie-rods are new too.
Any ideas?

When were they balance? Dymanic or static balance? bent wheel?
Not sure, I just bought the car. I know that the tires only have around 7,000 miles on them. The seller gave me all the receipts and I remember seeing one that mentioned the tires so i'll have to check to see how detailed it is. its not so much a shake as it is a subtle vibration and it's only at high speeds.

Like Joe said, have them dynamically rebalanced and go from there.
I had to rebalance the tires on my G6 at 14,000 miles because the steering wheel shook.
well in my trip across the state this past weekend I discovered that the vibration seems to be entirely dependent on the highway road surface. (that's Michigan for you I guess ) But I'm still going to try rotating the tires to see if that makes any difference when I get a chance.

How many miles on car? if it is road surface dependent then your shocks might be getting bad and can not hold tires on the road, usually this is a combination of shocks and balance.
