  • $400 for birthday, what do I buy?

Hey all, new member here. I've posted this on one other forum, but I'm curious as to what you all think.

My birthday is coming up (July 2nd) and my parents have decided to be really cool and get me something for the Camaro. It's a 94 V6, it's already got ground fx, a nice spoiler, and a nice (but bent) hood. Now while I can't milk them for $600 bucks, I can probably get them to throw in $200. I have about $200 to spend myself, so we're looking in the $400 range. I was thinking about something more internal, but currently, I know jack about engines. I do have a mechanic friend who has been more than helpful with the car so far, so it's not a problem of installing the part, just a matter of knowing what the hell it is, lol.
Alright, so, time to restate the question for those of you that are either confused, or didn't feel like reading the above.

I have $400 for a car upgrade. What do I get?

I was thinking of this exhaust, since it's easy to install and my exhaust is pretty crappy looking.

Also, I could probably use new brake pads and calipers. And of course, I'd love to do something to the engine, as it seems to be completely stock

Well, looking forward to all your suggestions!

intake and exhaust are great places to start, engine has to breath to make power magnaflow, and flowmaster are both great and in that price range, also look at the edelbrock, alot of people like teh slp but it's not one of my favorites

magnaflow's a good one. The SLP LM is an acquired taste. I will be the first to admit that it is not for everyone.

Alright, I've decided to go Magnaflow. Now just curious if anyone knows of a store in SE Michigan where I can buy this? The online thing is preferable to me, but my mammy really wants to go see it and such. If not, no biggie, I get to order it, but it would set her poor mind at ease, lol.
