  • Bubbling sail panel

I know that the 98-02 f-body's had issues with the sail panel. Has anyone here had any success acquiring one from a 93-97 f-body, getting it painted and installed?

Yes, I got a sail panel off a 95. Had it painted, did the install myself. Ls1tech has a thread on it. Pretty easy and I'm not a body guy..

i used this thread for reference..

I used a flat bar and ripped it off... It was that easy. Whole swap took me an hour...

98.5+ fbody have the problem. Early production 98 cars got left over LT1 sail panels = no problems. My red car made it by a month.

I hope it is, getting one from a junk yard is a lot cheaper then dropping $750.00 on one

the panels were not causing the problems. It was the glue they changed to in May 98..

Sawz-all does wonders, but what a mess!

Lol, taking it off my car won't be the problem. Getting it off in piece at the junk yard may be.

I never even knew about this. I guess I should pull the panel off the 98 before it goes to the junk yard.
