  • Need some help with heater blower motor

    Hey guys, I'm not sure about where you are but it's getting cold here in WV lol.....Anyways, back in the summer my heater/AC motor blew fine. Since then I had the complete dash out doing some wiring repairs. Today I went to turn the heater blower on and it's deader than a door nail. I removed the stereo trim etc. To get to the blower and made sure that it was plugged in....it looked to be so I checked the fuse box but could not find a fuse for the blower....any ideas as to where to begin looking for the possible cause? Is there any other fuses for the blower? Thanks!

      Havent checked the power to motor yet due to it got dark. Where is the resistor located?

        OK, Got the blower working like it should....turns out that when i was working in the dash i accidentally unplugged one of the plugs to the blower. Now here is the next problem...i have installed a new thermostat (180 degree) and added new coolant to the motor. Temperature of car is running around 180 - 185 and the blower blows cold on all settings. Anybody have any ideas?

              Air in the heater core. Pretty sure lt1 has a bleeder on the t stat and one in the heater line.
              The new dodge 3.6 trucks sick cause there is no bleeder. We have have to hold the
              at 3500rpm and they eventually push coolant thru the core

                Ok 1BADAIR, i appreciate the info. One last thing, do i need to perform the complete drain and re fill procedure that shoebox shows on his site or can i just open the bleeder on the thermostat housing? Also, someone replaced my heater line and i only have the 1 bleeder on my thermostat housing, will this be ok? i assume the car is off when draining or bleeding the air so if i open the bleeder on the thermostat housing what do i wait for? i am new to this....

                  At operating temp, open bleeders. bleed air out. once coolant comes out close bleeders. You need to have the level of coolant fairly close to full for this to work. So fill it like you normally would. let it reach operating temp,refill as much as it will take after thermostat opens, cap it, let it build some pressure, then open bleeders.

                  Other things to check for would be, plugged heater core, temp door not functioning, thermostat not opening properly, improperly connected or pinched heater hoses.

                      Just an update....back flushed the heater core and it blows hot now. the core had gobs of brownish sludge that came out of it. might sound funny but i swear my car is running better now lol...thanks again for the info!
