  • P0131 & P0151 and Stumbling idle, are they related?

Car has been running especially shitty this year, but I really haven't put many miles on it, so ive lived with it. Ever since the tail end of last year when I come to a stop (especially with the AC on) or am really working the steering wheel (like in parking lots) the idle starts to stumble and hunt around. The car frequently stalls from this. If I had to guess I would say in an average day of driving, to work, to lunch, then home, it would probably stall 3 or 4 times. It is incredibly frustrating!

The other interesting thing I have noticed was that when making a WOT run (usually only once 70+mph) the car will set a CEL. When scanned for codes it is showing P0131 and P0151 for the front 2 o2 sensors. I can clear the codes and even if I never make another WOT pass, the codes reappear BUT DO NOT SET A CEL, not until I make a WOT pass will it set the light for them.

Any thoughts on either of these issues? The o2's are the bosch ones for a vette with the longer wires.

      Non-existent.

We had a lot of problems with the cut out playing with them, then once closed the car would run super rich and terrible. So phil disabled them last time he had his hands on it.

Maybe totally un-related, but i was getting p0131 from low octane gas. Went away once i bought some Lucas octane booster.

I would assume so, but that thought DID cross my mind. So I replaced the fuel filter/regulator (corvette style) a few weeks ago. I will say now though, that after that filter replacement, I havent noticed the CEL light EVERY time I make a WOT run. Before it was like clockwork, now not so much, but the codes are still tripped. Just no light.

How does a vette one work? 3 lines?
clean maf, check fuel pressure. Make sure the make isn't backwards, make sure the maf hose isn't leaking

Vette o2s are 4 wire like ours. Unless you are talking about my MAF, its the 5 wire one with built in IAT 85 mm from the trucks.

Don't have a fuel pressure gauge, but I will try and rent one when I pick up a can of MAF cleaner since the one I have is pretty much empty.

I think he meant the vette fuel filter/regulator which I have to assume has 3 line to it as its supposed to be a true return style.
