  • What would cause a flooded LT1?

Yesterday at the track my car started stumbling after making a pass, on motor.
Get back into the pits, shut it off and it wouldn't start back up.
I noticed my K&N air filter fell off into my air dam. I put it on and was able to get it running only by putting the pedal down.
Smelled extremely rich, my oil also has a gas smell to it.
Before I left Milan yesterday I plugged my scan tool in and it had not thrown any codes.
Was in closed loop, blms were 128 and 128.
Both O2s were reading 750-950 and changing.
    It said AFR was learned.

Trailered it home to prevent any damage.
Tried starting it here and it clunked like it was hydro locked.
I have pulled plugs 1,3,7,2,4,8 so far. They all look black except three which was clean looking but was wet with fuel.

Any help is appreciated, going to go pull the other 2 plugs in a minute.

Would a FPR cause it to run that rich that it floods it out?
I pulled the vacuum hose to the FPR and it was dry.
I forgot to add that it has some white smoke when it would start.
It didn't smell sweet like coolant, but like gas.

Injector (s) stuck open, signal wire to injector harness shorted to power causing them to all stay open, MAP/MAF reading incorrectly, o2s reporting lean (low numbers) and PCM adding fuel accordingly.

Try cleaning the maf sensor. alcohal and a q tip. Be gental. You said the filter was off. Plus with the K&N filter charger, the oil tends to get all oil soaked.
That's if that's the type of filter you have.

I cranked it over without plugs in and a lot of gas was coming out of cyl 3, others were normal.
I pulled the injector and was able to spray brake clean right through it, none of my spares allowed that.

Sounds like the injector is bad

                      That was my conclusion.
I am glad I have spares.
What is a good upgrade without spending a lot when it's time?

fuel injection connection.com I bought a set of rebuilt 32lb injectors that were flow tested. I think it was 175ish.have had no problems with them, knock on wood, but you would need a retune after injector replacement ,due to higher flow.

I found a set of reconditioned SVO 30# injectors for $50 shipped on ebay, I think the seller was "zipaquio"

I think he upped the starting prince on the tested/flow matched injector sets though

if it is the injectors it's definitely worth your time to get them flow matched, also for what it's worth running a higher fuel pressure with a smaller injector will yield anywhere from 5 to 8 at the tires because of the better fuel atomization if your looking for some free power

Alright, I am running stock everything as far as the fuel system goes. I plan on a retune sometime soon, so I will buy injectors before I do that.
