I will be installing a trans temp gauge on my car, but I still need to decide where to put it. I like that my interior is completely stock, and I'd like to keep it looking that way. The only locations I know of are a-pillar and low in the middle of the dash, ahead of the shifter, next to the outlet and TC switch. I'm not usually much of a fan of a-pillar gauges, and I want to preserve the use of the cubby hole ahead of the shifter (I like to put bottles in there because the cupholder is worthless). So where do you guys have your extra gauges? Could you post pics?

sorry if i cant mention due to sponsership stuff but 6litereater made gauge plate to fit in your holder forward of the shifter. always liked that when i ran it in my car. the pillar pods put a glare on the window at night. creating a huge blind spot on the driver sidewishing i could drive like joe and the atm squad

Unfortunately, like I said, I really want to keep that cubby hole there because I put stuff in it all the time.Originally posted by MunsterZ28 View Postsorry if i cant mention due to sponsership stuff but 6litereater made gauge plate to fit in your holder forward of the shifter. always liked that when i ran it in my car. the pillar pods put a glare on the window at night. creating a huge blind spot on the driver side

I can mold the single pod to any part of the drivers pillar.Originally posted by alone_and_insane View PostUnfortunately, like I said, I really want to keep that cubby hole there because I put stuff in it all the time.2002 Z28 Camaro A4

Inside center console? Shouldn't need to be constantly looking at it as long as you can spare the storage space.

Yeah I figured, just trying to see what other options there are. Like I said in the OP, I'm usually not a huge fan of a-pillar gauges, but it's still the leading candidate at this time.Originally posted by mcalus View PostI can mold the single pod to any part of the drivers pillar.
eh, I would feel weird opening the console every time I want to look.Originally posted by birdie2000 View PostInside center console? Shouldn't need to be constantly looking at it as long as you can spare the storage space.

Are you willing to consider either a small idiot light instead of a gauge, or a small LCD digital gauge that just gives a number readout?
Pricey, but for the level of stealth you want it would be perfect:

Could mount that above the steering wheel like in the pic, or it could be flush mounted in several areas of your dash such as under your lighter outlet in the center cubby area.Last edited by birdie2000; July 24th, 2013, 10:22 AM.

I think I've decided to go with something like Jim posted. Just goes better with what I want for the car. I'm gonna start looking for cheaper alternatives, though. $200 (I imagine after shipping) seems pretty steep for something like that. I can find a bunch of super cheap digital temp gauges, but idk how accurate/reliable those would be.Last edited by alone_and_insane; July 26th, 2013, 08:13 AM.
