  • lt1 383 good price

Hi guys I am looking at buying a 383 lt1 for 1800 and I was wondering what you guys thought. Its a 93 motor with 5500 miles on it. Stock ported heads and stock ported intake 38 pound injectors and the cam is in the low five hundreds like 515 530. It also comes with the headers and trans. This should go right into a 1997 camaro without any problems right? It came out of a 93 trans am. Anything else I should ask about it? O the trans goes with it to.

Do you have an engine in the 97 already? For it to really work, you're going to have to convert some pieces over from the 97 engine to the 93 to get it to work right.

Manual or automatic? Automatics in 1993 were still 700r4, 1994 went 4L60E.

I think 1993 didn't have the crossover for the fuel rails just behind the trottle body.

      Opti's are different.

1996 and up had the crank sensor, right?

93 injectors use fire a bank at a time(4) in 1994 they went to squential injection

I was hoping this would just go right in without any problems but that don't sound like thats the case.

It really isn't going to be that bad to get it to work, but it's definitely not going to be plug and play without modification. The 1997 harness is going to be expecting a crank sensor which doesn't exist on the '93 383, stuff like that.

The drive method is different, unless the owner put a vented opti drive cam in it.

Not a big deal use your trans. Swap your fuel rail on it and your timing cover and crank sensor. You have everything you need to make it work
